<div itemprop="description">The family sadly announces the unexpected passing of their beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew and cousin Daniel Runchey on Thursday, March 9, 2017. <br> <br>He leaves to mourn his passing his parents Doug Runchey (Erin Sellers) and Judy Richardson (David Gislason); sister Catherine Warner; nephews Jonathan, Tyler, and Dylan; grandmother Hazel Runchey; uncle Allan Runchey (Carol), aunts Sharon (John Panting) and Mavis Metcalf; cousins Richard and Vincent Runchey, Heather Johnston, and Angela Metcalf; Andrea Tamboline and her daughter Taylor, and numerous extended family and friends. <br> <br>Daniel was born in Winnipeg on October 15, 1977 and attended Polson Elementary School until the age of seven. After moving to North Delta, B.C. in 1986, Dan attended Chalmers Elementary, Burnsview Secondary, and North Delta Senior Secondary Schools. <br> <br>Dan spent most of his working career in the paint industry, from manufacturing to installing and repairing industrial paint equipment, mainly with General Paint and Sherwin Williams. This past year he made a career change and at the time of his death was enrolled in the Appliance Servicing program at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. He recently won the Key Food Services Equipment award. <br> <br>Dan loved playing and watching baseball, and knew the game inside out. He was a regular attendee at Taylor's baseball games. He enjoyed golfing and was a fan of NASCAR and the Vancouver Canucks and Winnipeg Jets. Dan enjoyed fixing things. He was very talented at repairing and modifying cars. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Daniel’s name to the Canadian Mental Health Association or DEBRA Canada, an organization dedicated to providing support for families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a condition that Dan suffered throughout his life. <br></div>
