September 2, 1928 - October 18, 2016
Foley, Ella Avedene (nee Bryan)
“Never selfish, always loving and kind, These are memories you leave behind.”
Ella Avedene Foley (nee Bryan), known fondly as Lou, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2016, surrounded by loved ones. She’s survived by her husband, Richard Foley, her children, Iris, Rick, and Karen, as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Unconditionally loyal and remarkably kind, she was always there to brighten the lives of her family and friends. She’ll be remembered for her sense of humour, strength of character, and Irish roots. Ella was a creative soul who wrote journals, knit, and had an impeccable green thumb in the garden. Born in Saskatchewan on September 2nd, 1928, she moved to Calgary as a young woman where she started her family, eventually settling in Burnaby, BC, where she resided the rest of her life. She’ll return to the family plot in Calgary to rest next to her beloved daughter Colleen.
