<div itemprop="description">Joseph Zentner passed away in the comfort of his home in Abbotsford, BC at the age of 86 on February 13, 2017. Joe was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on July 13, 1930 to Percy and Ethel Zentner. He was the second of 3 children and spent his childhood in Winnipeg, MB and Vancouver, BC with his sister Ruth, brother Herschel, & spending time with childhood best friend Joey Agostino. He worked helping his parents in the family dry cleaning business in Vancouver before he got a job as a Coca Cola delivery driver in the 1950s. Later he raised beef and founded North Grove Hay, Feed, & Equipment in Aldergrove, BC. In 1980, Joe moved to Abbotsford for the rest of his life to raise the 3 remaining young children who were still living at home. <br> <br>When he moved to Abbotsford, he took a job driving truck for long hard hours at Valley Rite Mix- Lafarge where he met yet more close friends Doug & Dianne Hill & later accepted a position on the union board as a health official for the Teamsters union until he retired in the late 1980s. In his life he owned many horses, won championship endurance races including with his favourite prize horse Rosie Rediron. He liked training dogs, fishing, listening to 40s-50s jazz, marksmanship, politics, business, science, and enjoyed watching science fiction & old westerns. He was known for his skills in training dogs. For years he anonymously donated large amounts of food to good will and helped people when he could. <br> <br>Joe is survived by his beloved children David, Linda, Sara, Adam, & Tanya; and by his 4 cherished grandchildren Kyla, Ethan, Mya, & Kaden. Joe was a treasured father, grandfather, and friend with a good sense of humour and a man of integrity who worked to support his family & raise his children with a dedicated work ethic & to make a better life for them, he is remembered fondly. <br></div>
