<div itemprop="description">Gwenn was born May 11th, 1925 in Colfax, Saskatchewan, to Albert & Lottie Phillips, the little sister to brothers Gordon & Robert (Bob). She spent her early years in Colfax before moving to Vancouver. She made her choice to serve God at Aylesbury convention in 1942. On February 28, 1948 she married Mac Tarves, moving to Vancouver Island, beginning married life in a little cottage on the Sunnydale Golf course across the highway from George & Florence Grieve, moving to Black Creek in 1960 and later moving to Rock Creek & Midway, BC. In 2007 they moved to Abbotsford to be closer to family and after Mac's passing in June of last year, Gwenn moved to Victoria, to an independent living community, where she resided these past eleven months. <br> <br>Gwenn is predeceased by husband Mac (2015) and brother Bob (2001). She is survived by son Jim (Alice Anne), daughter Barbara (Les), son Bert, daughter Sandra (Owen), daughter-in-law Rosemarie, foster son Shawn Simmons, ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, brother Gordon of Surrey, sister-in-law Helen Phillips of Langley, nephews, nieces and many close friends. <br> <br>Our sincere thanks our friend Ruby Bruhjell, the staff at the Victorian at Mckenzie, and the doctors and nursing staff of 5S, Victoria General Hospital for their kind and compassionate care of our mom.</div>
