William John Blackmore
1940 – 2016
John passed away on October 8, 2016. He is survived by his wife Leanora (Lee) and his daughters Jackie (Paolo), and Denise (Jamie). Also by his siblings: Dorothy (John), Harry (Trish), Beatrice, his large extended family and his friends. John’s father Jack was a builder and he inspired John to start his own company Blackmore Construction Company LTD in 1967. John owned and operated the company from 1967-2014. He leaves behind a legacy of quality workmanship and hand built homes across the west side of Vancouver. After John retired, he split his time between his family in Qualicum and his daughters, family and friends in Vancouver. John enjoyed watching football, dinners out with his family & friends, gardening, walking, and taking cruises. Though he experienced some health struggles, John was always smiling & positive. He was a kind, gentle, humble family man and his loss is deeply felt by all who had the pleasure to know him.
A service in Celebration of John’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Valley View, 14660 72nd Ave., in Surrey, BC. For those who wish, a memorial donation may be made to the charity of your choice. Visit www.valleyviewsurrey.ca to send a personal condolence.
