Manfred Johann Kirsten, age 69, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, January 29, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Manfred was born March 14, 1944 to Sebastian & Christine Kirsten in Retzow, Germany. He is survived by his wife, Ann Marie; sons Michael (Emilia) & Kevin (Christy); grandsons Brendan, Riley, Dylan & Justin; brothers Karl (Therese), Herbert (Anita) & Albert (Marlies) and numerous sister & brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Manfred immigrated to Canada in 1965 to begin his successful career in the sewing and garment industry which is how he met Ann Marie. He enjoyed life with his family, travelling and hobbies including model trains and creating home videos.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 7th, 2014 at Corpus Christi Parish (6350 Nanaimo St, Vancouver) at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens (14644 72nd Ave, Surrey) at 1:30pm. A reception to celebrate Manfred’s life will be held at 2pm at Valley View and everyone is welcome.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Agency/Foundation
